Summary

Modern building built in 1959 of timber and glass in the grounds of Wollaston House. The roof is a hyperbolic-parabaloid (`collapsed tent'). When completed it was the largest Commonwealth centre in Britain.

Full Description

{1} The conference hall is a pavilion with a hyperbolic-parabaloid roof. When completed it was the largest in the country. It is of timber, 60ft square. The dip is 12ft. Curtain walling and brick buttressing as a support.
