Full Description

{1} A slightly curving, recut ditch aligned roughly NNW-S. The original ditch was at least 0.85m wide and 0.42m deep with steep sides and a flat base. A series of fills were identified, possibly indicating weathering from an associated bank to the west.
The recut ditch was up to 0.85m wide and 0.4m deep with a less angular and more concave profile. There was a slight shift in alignment in the northern part of the ditch, to the west.
The ditch is interrpeted as a field boundary. It doesn't correspond to any boundaries shown on historical maps. This, and the lack of finds, suggests that it might relate to an earlier period than post medieval.
