Full Description
{1} The bomb bays comprised four concrete ramps rising to a height of approx 0.65m above present ground level, each divided from the other by an earthen mound mound measuring up to 1.6m. A low wall constructed in English bond and comprising predominantly pinkish-red London bricks bounded with a hard pale grey-white mortar extended along the full length of the front of the loading bays into which iron loops each measuring 0.11m in diameter were set at regular intervals of 0.9m. Concrete coping slabs up to 0.17m thick ran along the top of the wall. The bomb bays were linked to the nearby Nissen huts by concrete trackways.
