Full Description

{1} To the rear of the house, on the plot boundary is a brick, detached barn with a tiled roof, of similar construction to the C19 extensions to the house.
EXTERIOR: The right side of the front elevation is dominated by a large cartway opening with double timber hintels. The doors are timber panelled, and comprise a double door with an inserted pedestrian door to the left. The doors are probably later replacements. There is a first-floor door on the left-side of the front elevation, probably used for loading, and a further door directly below offering ground-floor access. The doors are of some age and are simple plank doors with large metal hinges. There is a four-light horizontal window above the ground-floor door. The front also has windows at ground and first-floor levels (flanking the doors), and there is an apex window on the right-hand gable. A small lean-to exists to the right attached to the barn and boundary wall.
INTERIOR: Internally the first floor is intact and currently accessed by a ladder (the historic timber ladder remains in-situ).

{2} The C19th saw a change of use of the site as a whole with the addition of the former bakehouse at the east end, as well as a further outbuilding and the coach house later in the century. The latter is a large coach house and stable which occupies the north-west corner of the garden. This building is being retained under the current development scheme, and so was not surveyed, but photographed for completeness.
