Full Description
{1} An 1843 map of Cosgrove shows the Lodge but not the garden building. The next available map, the 1884 OS map, shows the garden building, hence is construction is somewhere between these two dates.
The building is of red brick, external white wash with timber trusses. It is rectangular and measures 5m in length by 3.5m in width, and approx. 3.7m tall. The south east elevation has two doorways and one window, the south west elevation has one doorway, and the northwest elevation has one doorway and one window. The building has a hip roof covered with Welsh blue slate, and a wooden beam frame running along the top of the brickwork.
The general condition of the structure is poor, with movment causing several large cracks in the mortar joints of the brickwork.
