Full Description
{1} This row of what appear to be shoemakers' workshops appear, on map evidence, to occupy the site of a short terrace of houses, demolished after 1899, but they face the east end of another terrace which they are clearly intended to serve. Each workshop has a doorway and a large window in the west front, which, however, is overshadowed by the terrace. Each workshop is heated by a stove, served by a tiny corbelled stack terminating in a clay flue pipe: these can be seen protruding on the west and north walls at eaves level.
