1086 Domesday Survey records Cerveltone with one mill rendering 2s
1791 Bridges mentions the mill at Charwelton
1860 Advertisement for sale of estate of Mr. William Blackwell, deceased, included a watermill driving two pairs of stones and referred to "an extensive business has been carried on at it for many years by the late proprietor"
1871 Census lists John Elliman, miller, at Millers House but no mention of a miller at Charwelton in later Census returns or trade directories
1927 Described as "almost entirely demolished"

Documentary sources: Shown on 1810 survey plan for OS, marked Charlton Mill; 1827 Bryant's map marks it as Charwell Mill; and 1833 1 inch OS marks it Charwelton Mill.
