Full Description

{1} An additional group of strong magnetic anomalies indicate a further settlement site in Fields 5 and 6. The findings include curved features likely to indicate hut circles in Field 6, where there is also a strong peak in the susceptibility readings.
Enclosures and settlement features, probably including hut circles.

{2} Excavation was undertaken as part of the Hannington to Pitsford Pipeline. Activity began in the late Bronze Age-early Iron Age and continuded into the middle Iron Age. A range of features were identified including boundary ditches, a semi-circular enclosure, four post structures and pit groups, at least some of which were likely to have been storage pits. Many of the ditches had been recut multiple times. There was no evidence of settlement, but this was probably due to the relatively small area of excavation. Pottery was generally sparse, although a possible structured deposit was identified in one of the boundary ditch terminals of late Bronze Age to early Iron Age vessels.
A Roman boundary ditch, aligned north-south was also identified.
