Monument record 3727/1 - Probable Iron Age Iron Production, Grendon Lakes

Iron Age pottery along with two possible Iron Age smelting pits have been found in the vicinity of Bronze Age activity. Small tap slag fragments have also been found in a nearby path.

{4} An Iron Age iron smelting site located 0.5km north west of the Old Lodge in Grendon. The site is known from small tap slag fragments in a nearby path. The site was under crop during the 1998 field survey which made further assessment impossible.
