Full Description

{1} Trench 25 contained a layer, perhaps associated with an extant pond.
The layer was recorded at the north-east end of the trench. It was a dark brown silty clay, 0.56m thick, similar to the overlying subsoil. It produced four sherds of pottery of 14th-early 16th century AD date. To the north is an extant pond and it is possible that the material is associated with the construction or maintenance of this feature. The deposit corresponded with a geophysical anomaly.
