Full Description
{1} A possible timber roundhouse was identified at the east end of the excavated area. It comprised nine postholes describing an irregular circle. Other postholes could have been removed by ditches which lie to either side of the structure. Two posts lay at the centre of the building and may have acted as roof supports. The other seven posts formed the circumference of the roundhouse. A gap in the south side of the ring may have marked the entrance. No dating evidence for the structure was recovered; it could be prehistoric or Roman.
