Full Description

{1} The second edition OS map clearly shows an earthwork west of the house and south of the entrance road. Aerial photos of 1944 show these earthworks to be probable quarrying activity. By 1945 the area had grown over, but appears to have been reopened again by 1947. A 1953 aerial photo shows the quarrying to have expanded, but it had grown over again by 1654.
