Full Description

{1} Feature SP76. Figs.5.1 and 5.6. An earth-cut oven or corn dryer comprising a shallow circular pit, 1.2m in diameter x 0.40m deep, with a linera flue to the south-west, 2.25m long x 0.80m wide x 0.20m deep. A layer of silt was overlain by a deposit of charcoal and burnt clay, the latter probably derived from a collapsed superstructure. Charcoal from the secondary fill produced a C14 date of 440-650 Cal AD.
