Full Description

{1} Trench 1 was remarkable in that the only feature of note was a deep layer of garden-type subsoil which was totally lacking in artefacts, even modern ones.
To the south-east of this the layer was truncated by the footings of a lime mortar bonded brick wall, up to seven courses high, and once forming the north-west side of a small C19th or early C20th outbuilding. The south-east wall of this still survives and forms the boundary with the adjacent property.
