Full Description
{1} The natural in Trench 3 was cut by two parallel gullies 1m apart and aligned north-west to south-east. They both had steep sides and flat bases, and were 0.85m wide x 0.25m deep. The fill of the south-westernmost gully contained frequent limestone cobbles at its base.
The gullies were cut by two roughly parallel drainage gullies, aligned north-east to south-west. They were similar in shape, having steep sides, but were not fully excavated due to high ground water. They were between 0.75-0.90m wide and at least 0.3m deep. The fill of the northernmost gully contained brick, limestone and sherds of post medieval pottery and clay pipe. No finds were recovered from the other gully.
