Full Description

{1} Public house. Late C17 origins, mainly mid C18. Ironstone ashlar with slate roof. 4-unit plan. 2 storeys. 5-window range of casements with glazing bars. Those to first floor are under wood lintels with 2 half dormers to far left and those at ground floor under stone lintels with keyblocks. C17 five-light stone mullion cellar window to far left. C20 door to left of centre is under C19 wooden hood. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and brick stacks at ridge and ends. The 2 bays to the left are of different build; the ironstone used for the 2 builds is taken from different quarries. Interior has open fireplace with bressumer and salt cupboards.
