Full Description
{1} A further possible trapezoidal enclosure can be defined in the south-east of Area 1, represented by four severely truncated ditches, with only their bases remaining. This possible enclosure would have been at least 46m x 36m. Its south-eastern ditch is paralleled by a further more substantial ditch (1.3m wide x 0.4m deep) on the outside of the enclosure. It is not sure whether both of these ditches were open at the same time, or whether one replaces the other. Both contained early Romano-British pottery.
Located within the enclosure were eleven pits and several tree throws. The majority of the pits were undated, and it is difficult to determine any relationship between these and the enclosure.
