Full Description

{1} Recording of an outbuilding roof prior to its repair/replacement. The roof consisted of a collared principal truss with purlins resting on the collar beam. The majority of the common rafters were found to be modern replacements. The roof had been tiled with terracotta pantiles, and had been made using whatever materials came to hand. As such it was typical of a small vernacular building. It is shown on the First Edition OS map series of the 1880s. Plans and photographs included in report.
