Full Description

{1} Trench 17. Ditch, pit and a more complex group of pits and other cut features which were associated with charcoal, ash, vitrified material and burnt stone. There was no evidence for in-situ burning suggesting that the material was imported from elsewhere. A single nail was recovered, but proved undiagnostic, thus the activity remains undated. It appears to have been relatively discrete in character, not showing within other trenches which were excavated.
