Full Description

{1} A shallow gully 0.30m wide x 0.10m deep lay parallel to the current boundary, running east to west, and cutting into the natural. Its dark grey-brown sandy clay fill contained occasional small limestone fragments, animal bone and medieval pot sherds. The gully may represent a C12th boundary feature.
The ground to the south was heavily disturbed and truncated in places. Late medieval pottery was recovered from the eastern part of the area, and C18th pottery from the western end of the area, where houses are documented.
In the centre of the southern foundation trench an undated pit was noted but could not be excavated for health and safety reasons.
