Full Description

{1} The trial trench evaluation recorded features related to the post-medieval landscape. The post-medieval ditch in Trench 3 was situated on the northern side of a headland and was likely to be associated with it. The post hole in Trench 2 contained a piece of post-medieval pottery, but was isolated and of uncertain function. The two parallel ditches in Trench 1 have the same orientation as a furrow and are in a position where one ought to have been. The ditches may represent the uneven base of a furrow or related drainage ditches.
