Full Description

{1} A concentration of archaeological features was located in the southern portion of the site, located within the courtyard of Deene Hall. This consisted of a number of walls mostly constructed of limestone with some red brick walls also present. These are likely to be the remains of the large building that is marked out on the 1886 Ordnance Survey map, the 18th-century laundry house and Victorian ballroom that was demolished after a successful appeal to the House of Lords in 1984.
