Full Description
{1} The barn appears to be present on the 1810 Eagle Map of Geddington. It is a single rectangular crop barn constructed of coursed limestone rubble with stressed ashlar quoins in the same stone. It measures c16m x 6.5m in plan. On the north side is a modern pair of barn doors within an original hay-wain entrance. A corresponding entrance on the south side was blocked up in recent decades. It has a roof of corrugated asbestos and the roof trusses and rafters are of machine-sawn soft-wood. Concrete floor. Owl-holes in each gable are probably original. It formerly had three north-facing ventilation windows at ground floor, two blocked where thay face a later building. A single one faces south, with two additional ones added later.
