The transmitter building was opened by Post Master General on 27 July 1925. It was built by Bosworth and Wakefield at a cost of £50,000.

Full Description
{1} Brief note and photographs of exterior;
{2} The 5XX building of common brick and asbestos roof was built by Daventry builders Bowsworth and Wakeford. The building was divided into three areas- front offices and studio, central transmitter hall and a rear power room with motor generator sets which supplied valve filaments, bias and high voltage to the transmitter. A spacious high ridged roof hall with cathedral type windows housed the transmitter.
