Full Description

{1} An isolated Iron Age pit was excavated; no other Iron Age remains were identified either during the excavation or preceding evaluation. It was 2.6m long, 2.3m wide and 1.15m deep. In the primary fill was part of a possible triangular loom weight. There was considerable late Iron Age pottery in upper fills and probably intrusive Saxo-Norman pottery in uppermost fill (the pit had been truncated by a 12th century ditch).
