Summary

Trial trench excavation identified several pits in one of the trenches. Roman pottery dating from the 2nd century to the late 3rd century AD was found in the pit fills.

Full Description

{1} Three pits were found in Trench 7. Roman pottery, dating from the 2nd century to the late 3rd century AD, was recovered from all three and animal bone from two.
