Full Description

{1} An isolated north-east/south-west aligned ditch located to the south-west of the main area of settlement. It measured 0.6m wide and 0.11m deep with shallow moderately sloping sides and a concave base. It contained a single silty sand fill, from which 342 sherds of Middle Iron Age pottery were recovered. Two were of scored ware, a fabric typical of the middle Iron Age. A soil sample contained a moderately small number of charred plant remains, indicative of dispersed domestic settlement suggesting the ditch lay within an area on the outskirts of the settlement.
