Full Description
{1} Originally two two-bay terraced houses. No 17 appears to have been a conventional house with small domestic rear range and yard. At the rear of No 15 is a six-bay, two-storey workshop range along Ethel Street- it is possible the house and workshop are contemporary. The integration of 15 and 17 must have taken place after 1896, as White's directory lists as separate premises. If so, the combination is probably associated with the occupancy of the Brunswick Blacking Company around 1912. The conversion work was carefully carried out- the door of No 15 has been neatly converted into a window using a stone sill very simialr to the other sills.
