Full Description

{1} Free Grammar School, Church Street
Established in 1595. Has both an upper and a lower school. The upper school is free to the inhabitants of Wellingborough, for the teaching of Latin only .The building for the upper school was erected in 1880 in London Road. The lower school is connected to the national system and teaches reading, writing and accounts. In 1906 the govenors of the school opened a grammar school for girls.
