Full Description

[1} Archaeological strip map and sample found two pits. One contained pottery dating from the 12th to 14th century a possible iron knife blade and a copper alloy clasp or fitting, the other contained pottery dating from the 13th to 14th centuries. Both were cut by a furrow containing pottery dating from the 13th to 15th centuries, which was itself cut by a ditch which contained 19th century glass. Unstratified Saxon pottery was also recovered.
