Full Description

{1} Human remains found in spoil during the excavation of a pond in a garden at Wood Burcote. Subsequent visit identified a fragment of mandible and matching maxilla as well as a femur, and rib and pelvis fragments. Damage to bone may suggest that they had been disturbed and re-deposited previously. Pottery recovered at the same time did not appear to pre-date the 18th century.
