Summary

A short length of ditch was uncovered during restoration works on a 19th-century service block at Kelmarsh Hall. Pottery from the ditch was locally-made, probably dating to the early 1st century AD

Full Description

{1} Late Iron Age/Roman ditch discovered during the restoration of a 19th-century service block at Kelmarsh Hall. The ditch was aligned north-west to south-east. Finds included burnt daub and a small assemblage of pre-Roman pottery.
