Full Description

{1} Three-storey former shoe factory built shortly before 1890, with principal elevations to Carrington Street and Victoria Street meeting at a canted corner containing the entrance beneath a two-storeyed polygonal oriel. It survives reduced to a single-storey beneath two asymmetrical roof pitches, gabled east-west and formerly north-lit. A view of the works was published in 1916. The present canted corner dates from a modification in the late 1920s or 1930s and appears to be contemporary with the dismantling of the upper storeys.
