Full Description
{1} Archaeological evalaution revealed an east-west aligned ditch where a cluster of 'pit-like' responses had been identified on the geophysical survey plot. The ditch measured c. 2.7m wide and 0.6m deep. A
pottery sherd was recovered from the middle fill dated to the mid-late Iron Age. The ditch may relate to an identified geophysical survey anomaly interpreted as a cultivation feature. Its size may suggest that it is an outlying boundary/field ditch.
{2} Archaeological excavation undertaken in 2018 found that the feature was a large irregular pit. No further finds were recovered.
