Full Description

{1} Disparking of Brigstock Great Park took place in the early 17th century. Maps of this period show the sequence of its enclosure into small fields. Just after disparking a number of ponds were created; each field had access to water from one of these. A trench excavated through one of the ponds revealed a limestone-lined bottom. Many are now filled in.
