Full Description

{1} A level 2 building recording of three redundant shelter sheds was undertaken prior to conversion to residential use. The buildings were constructed between 1820 and 1885 in locally sourced materials. The site comprises three conjoined ranges laid out in an inverted L-shaped plan to the south of Cotterstock Road and central to a pair of former stockyards. Two of the ranges are aligned north to south, one open to the east and one to the west; the range opening to the west had lost its roof at the time of the survey. The third range is aligned perpendicular to the road.

The 1912 Sales Particulars suggest that one of the north-south ranges was a shelter shed for bullocks with granary over. The range along the road was rebuilt in its current form as an open sided animal shelter in the 20th century after 1912 with a corresponding roof structure.
