Building record 1160/0/362 - 115-19 (odd) Clare Street

A small three-storey boot and shoe factory and attached two-storey may date from as early as c1875. The factory has four bays. The factory was then used as a leather warehouse from c.1900.

{3/4} The sign is faded but BEARD BROWN AND CO listed here in the 1924 Kelly’s directory as retail boot and shoe manufacturers along with The College Leather Co. and Brockhall Motors.
Beard and Brown no longer here by the 1928 directory.
