Summary
Archaeological excavation revealed an isolated pit which contained 80 sherds of Middle Bronze Age Deverel-Rimbury pottery and a waterhole dating to the Roman period.

Full Description
{3} Archaeological excavation of Area 8 identified an isolated pit measuring 2.5m by 2m. Its single fill produced 80 sherds of Middle Bronze Age Deverel-Rimbury pottery. A waterhole located in the north-eastern corner of the excavation area, and situated to the north of an undated ditch and waterhole, measured 5.37m long by 4.91m wide and 0.91m deep. Sherds of Roman pottery were recovered from its uppermost fill.
