Full Description
{1} A single trial trench excavated in 2012 at the former Forge Garage site identified a single posthole that contained late iron Age pottery. Subsequent investigations, which included observation of geotechnical test pits and boreholes and of ground reduction prior to development, showed that much of the site had been disturbed by 20th-centuries buildings, pit-digging and numerous phases of drains.
May be associated with the Iron Age activity to the north-west [HER No: 757].
