Summary

A former maltings of 1827 that was then used as a smithy and wheel wrights shop, located on the northern side of Bridge Street, to the east of Willow Brook. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a hipped Collyweston slate roof and brick ridge chimney stacks. On the south western gable is an inscribed datestone: JH 1827. The building is U shaped in plan with the southern wing abutting the street. This street elevation has three gabled dormer windows above three segmental arched windows with a door to the right and two small attic and cellar windows to the far left.

Full Description

{1} Bridge House, an industrial building, originally a malting now partly a dwelling. U-shaped plan, hipped roof. On south-west gable a panel inscribed 'IH 1827' for John Howes.

{2} The site of a former maltings of 1827 that was then used as a smithy and wheel wrights shop.
