Summary

Three detached almshouses situated on the eastern side of Church Lane were built in 1860 by Fanny and Charlotte Proby and extended in 1964 by Sir Richard Proby. The building is constructed of rubble and ashlar dressings with a double pitch slate roof with gable parapets and chimney stacks at each gable and at the centre left of the ridge. The western facade has a central gable with a three light leaded window beneath a recessed plaque and a trefoil opening in the apex. To each side of the central gable are two projecting gabled entrance porches with decorative bargeboards and finials. On the far left and right are three light leaded windows.

Full Description
