Summary

A house and shop built between 1840 and 1850 situated on the northern side of Main Street. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and double pitch Welsh slate roofs with ashlar gable chimney stacks. The building is in an L plan with the gable of the shop facing the road. This gable has a large six paned casement shop window under a hood mould with a similar smaller window above. The right return of the shop has a two window range of tripartite sashes to the first floor and one to the ground floor right. A large door is on the left with a second entrance in the angle of the two buildings. The house is at right angles to the shop and has two, three light casement windows to each floor.

Full Description

{1} House and former shop, two storeys. Welsh slate roof, mid 19th-century. House set at right angles to long range which comprises shop at one end and Methodist Chapel [HER 2686/2/1] at the other.
