Summary

A 19th century estate cottage called Carberry House is located on the north western side of Blatherwycke Road. It is constructed of coursed rubble with low double pitch cement tiled roofs with brick and ashlar chimney stacks at the gable ends. The main facade has a three window range of casements under cambered arches to the first floor with two similar windows flanking an entrance porch on the ground floor. The porch is built of rubble with a gabled tiled roof with decorative bargeboards and a wooden finial. The entrance is via a cambered rubble arch. It is similar to porches on estate cottages in Laxton and those built as a part of the Laxton estate. The house has a rear range with ashlar chimneys and casement windows and a single story extension to the right has three windows in dressed surrounds.

Full Description

{1} Carberry House, of two storeys, gabled porch with segmental-headed opening (cf Laxton village), windows with cambered rubble arches, parapeted gables, T-shaped plan, early 19th-century. Part of the Laxton estate (Not entered).
