Summary

A house located on the south western side of Main Street close to Willow Brook. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with brick chimney stacks at the gable ends. The building has a number of irregular casement windows under stone lintels to the first floor and under wooden lintels on the ground floor. In the east gable an incised datestone has the inscription: TB 1658. It was raised from single to two storeys in the 19th century and has been much modernised.

Full Description

{1} No 28, originally one storey and attics, class 5 plan, late 17th or early 18th-century, raised to two storeys in the 19th century. The west room retains a wide fireplace and a transverse beam with notched ogee stops; much modernised. Datestone 'TB 1658' probably reset.
