Summary

A row of three early 19th century houses that were extended during 1827 are situated on the northern side of Mill Street. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble with a shared double pitch slate roof with chimney stacks on the gable ends and on the roof ridge. The houses are single and two story with the house to the west (Number 3) having an attic range lit by two gabled eaves dormer windows. The main facade faces south on to Mill street and has a blocked cart entrance to the far left with a door and two blocked windows to its right. The right of the main front (Smithy Cottage) has a four window range of casements to the first floor above a central door flanked by three light sash windows. An inscribed panel to the rear has RT/IN/1827 that seems to be the date of the extension.
