Summary

Archaeological observation undertaken in 1974-5 during stripping of land for Millbrook and Kingsley Schools. Roman ditches and the corner of a stone-built building were observed

Full Description

{1} 1974: A large area scraped for an extension to Millbrook School revealed Roman ditches.
1975: A large area scraped for the construction of [Kingsley School] revealed the corner of a rectangular building, possibly a barn. There were no foundation trenches, only a thin line of limestone blocks set directly onto the ironstone subsoil.
