Summary

Former Turners Arms inn. The two-storey street dates to the second quarter of the 19th century, while a rear wing has a late 17th-century origin; reset in west wall is a datestone of 1698. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and a double pitch stone slate roof with a large central ashlar chimney stack. The street front has a symmetrical facade with four 12 paned casement windows to the first floor with an ashlar plat band beneath. The ground floor has doorways to the far left and right (the right being blocked) and two central three light windows.

Full Description

{1} No. 15, former Turner Arms inn; two-storey street range of the second quarter of the 19th century has central stack, deep plan with side passageway and front with ashlar platband. Interior gutted. A rear wing of one storey and attics has a late 17th-century origin; reset in west wall is a panel inscribed 'ES 1698'. Occupied in 1851 as The Turners Arms by William Hill, turner and publican (Census).
