Full Description

{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken during the development of a small site to the north of St Edmund's Road in 2019. Two stone wall foundations were found on the plot frontage and probably relate to a small building depicted on the 1st Edition OS map. The 1st edition map indicates that the remainder of the plot was divided into a series of small yards with outbuildings. The archaeological observation identified a well and two manholes which were probably associated with this phase of activity. The building and yards had gone by the 1960s.
