Full Description
{1} This small shoe factory, consisting of three storeys and four bays, stands on the south side of Henry Street and was built between 1890 and 1896. Like one of its neighbours (Site 100), it has a ground floor which is virtually a basement. The principal entrance is in the eastern bay of the north front, while at the opposite end a yard entrance, though modern in character, respects the position of one shown on the 1899 Goad plan. The ground-floor windows have segmental heads and cast-iron frames, while those on the upper floors have cambered heads, projecting stone sills set in flush bands, and timber frames incorporating opening top-lights. No loading doorway is apparent. Additions to the rear, nearly filling the plot, are of 20th-century date.
