Monument record 2879/2 - Possible Iron Age/Roman enclosure, north of Glebe Farm

A probable subrectangular ditched enclosure of Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Located in a field NNE of Glebe Farm, the ditch is up to 3 metres wide and encloses an area about 38 x 40 metres.at its widest. The east facing corner, if it existed, is not visible and the SW facing side appears to have internal features attached to it, but these are indistinct.

[1} A probable subrectangular ditched enclosure of Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in a field about 566 metres NNE of Glebe Farm and centred at SP 91484 60003, the ditch is up to 3 metres wide and encloses an area about 38 x 40 metres.at its widest. The east facing corner, if it existed, is not visible on the available aerial photographs. The SW facing side appears to have internal features attached to it, but these are indistinct.
